MARATHON TIPS FROM THE PRO’s

 

We have one of our DASH Ambassadors Tracy Barlow giving us the scoop on her top 3 marathon race tips.

Just to put this into context Tracy is a GB international marathon runner, with a personal best of 2hrs 30. And not just that the first marathon Tracy ran was in 3hr 53min & since then she’s been chipping away. To come from way back to where she is now is such an incredible achievement and shows you all what you could achieve with that mental focus. Be fearless, anything is possible.

Tracy’s top 3 marathon race tips:

1 – Focus on your own race, trust the training you have done and your fitness and believe in yourself.
2 – Race hard, get into a rhythm and keep the focus. Keep a check on yourself every now and then to make sure you aren’t caught daydreaming and slipping off pace.
3 – A marathon is all about getting to 20miles, then the race really starts. So make sure you have enough left in yourself to either step it up or hold it to the end. Try to chase down the vest infront of you and work your way through the runners.
